MDF & WPC Scotia

Scotia serves the purpose of concealing the gap between the wall and the flooring once the floor installation is complete. Typically, a 10mm space is intentionally left between the wood and the wall to accommodate expansion. Our scotia is crafted from high-quality moisture-resistant MDF and , measuring 19mm x 19mm. It offers just the right amount of flexibility to adapt to minor wall irregularities.

Standardly, our scotia comes in 2.4 meters length. We offer a diverse selection of over 50 colors in our scotia range, ensuring you can effortlessly find a match for any flooring type..

Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) is an engineered wood-based sheet material made by bonding together wood fibres with a synthetic resin adhesive. MDF is extremely versatile and can be machined and finished to a high standard.

Wood plastic composite (WPC) is a material created from a unique blend of natural wood and plastic fibers. Sawdust, pulp, bamboo, peanut hulls and unused woodworking materials, like bark, from a variety of projects, are combined with plastic powder to form WPC.

Scotia differs from skirting in that skirting is simply a baseboard made of wood or vinyl that covers the expansion gap. However, it goes on top of the flooring rather than inside the gap. The Scotia depends on stable skirting as its base.
